Dior Vernis Pink Porcelain

Hi everybody!

Today I want to show you a polish that I got as a gift:

It is Dior Vernis Pink Porcelain. It's a babypink, with bright silver shimmer in it. Beautiful in the bottle but a real pain in the ass to apply! Unfortunately the shimmer disappears when applied on the nail...The polish is also very streaky, and needs 3 to 4 coats to be really opaque. Overall very disappointing for a polish which is too expensive in my opinion (€22,50 about $33).

Here are some swatches:

On this pictures you can see the shimmer in the bottle but not on my nails...

See how beautiful the shimmer is?
Too bad it doesn't show on my nails...

I like the color; too bad it takes 4 coats to get the streakyness even...

What do you think about this color... Would you buy it?

Do you own Christian Dior polishes?

Have a great weekend!

Love,
Kim

OPI Over The Taupe...

Hi!

Today I want to show you one of my newer polishes: OPI's Over The Taupe.
It's a chocolate-mocca brownish color, I really like the color and application of it.

And this picture above is in taken in daylight / shade.

I have a job at an office, and I think this color is well suited for office-kinda-jobs.

What do you think about this color?

Have a nice evening!

Kim

New Bundle Monster stamping plates

Hi y'all!

Everybody can't wait for the new Bundle Monster-set which seem to come out April 25th... Another 6 long days & nights to wait... :)

You probably already saw these new plates, but for my readers who don't have Facebook, and haven't seen the pictures of some of the new plates yet, here they are:

... and these are just 10 of the 25 (!) pieces of stamping plates. This time there are 4 plates more then in the previous set, for the same amount of money! And another big benefit seems to be that the images are bigger, so they finally can fit your thumb nail!

I haven't used my other Bundle Monster-set much, because of the problem that the images don't fit my nails. Even when my nails are short, they don't fit because they're the images are too small (of my nails are too wide :) ).

Hopefully that problem is solved with these new plates!

Are you planning on buying this new set of plates?
I can't wait!

Have a great night!

Love,
Kim

P.S. I see I already have 33 followers!! Jeeeej!!! Thank you so much, I really appreciate you guys!!!

Note: Images are from Bundle Monster.com and their Facebook-page: http://www.facebook.com/bundlemonster.

Shopping: Catrice polishes & Essence Gel Eyeliner + brush

Hi y'all!

Today I bought 2 Catrice polishes, 1 gel eyeliner from Essence and 1 eyeliner brush.
I'm going to swatch the gel eyeliners soon. I really like them, that's why I bought 3 in total (see my previous shopping post).

The polishes from Catrice are:

Catrice Up In The Air

Catrice Am I Blue Or Green?

Essence Gel Eyeliner London Baby!

Essence Gel Eyeliner brush

I swatched the polishes on my nailpolish wheels, and they're perfect for Spring or Summer. I think I like those colors best on my toes :)

The gel eyeliner from Essence is a soft and creamy taupe eyeliner, which is also waterproof (a must!).
The gel eyeliner brush is a soft brush, especially for the application of the gel eyeliner. I bought 2 of them, but I just can't get the hang of it. I can make a line with it, but that's about it! I can not make a wing properly, so I don't really like these brushes. I'll just stick to my good old tip pointed brushes from Coastal Scents which are these:

Synthetic Fine Liner Brush $ 1,99 (± € 1,35)

and this one:

Destiny Eyeliner Super Fine $ 2,29 (± € 1,60)

But now I have two brushes that don't seem to work for me :(

Does anyone has any tips for me how to get a beautiful wing with an angled eyeliner brush?
I love to hear it!

Goodnight!

Love,
Kim

Essence Deep Blue Sea

Hi!

After the stamping failure from last night, I took off everything, and while my little princess is doing her nap right now, I polished my nails again. This time I used: Essence Deep Blue Sea from the Show Your Feet collection.

Can you believe that this is only 1 coat? The Essence Show Your Feet-collection is unbelievable opaque, so only 1 coat is enough, even with a dark polish like Deep Blue Sea! I also put on 1 coat of Seche Vite.

Photo's are taken in outdoor sunlight, because the sun is shining finally in The Netherlands! :)

I took this picture when the sun was behind a cloud I guess...

I really like the consistency of these polishes and also the brush is wide, so that makes the application easier.

Do you own Essence Show Your Feet-polishes?

Love,
Kim

Stamping failure with XL-plate B...

Hi, here I am again!

I just wrote in my previous post that I thought my OPI's Don't Know... Beets Me!-manicure could use some Konad-ing...

Well... maybe it's because I'm a bit tired... Maybe it's because I used my new Essence Stampy Black polish... I don't know what it is, but I f*cked up!

The stamp didn't transfer the image well... And you can see that at the tips of my middle-, ring- and pinky finger... :(

Also the Essence Stampy Polish Black stains on my cuticles, and I can't get it off!

Ah well... I'm glad I did this on an older manicure...

I'm going to take it off, and think about what I'm going to wear next...

Sleep tight!

Love,
Kim

OPI Don't Know... Beets Me!

Hi!

Here's a swatch of one of the OPI polishes I bought last week:

It's a beautiful fuchsia pink which application is great! These are 2 coats, with one coat of Seche Vite but...
This manicure is 4 days old!

Do you see the scratches? I haven't got the time to polish again, but with the next swatch I'm going to do, I'm going to take pictures straight after polishing... I promise :)

I think it needs some Konad stamping, don't you think? :)

Love,
Kim

Shopping: OPI, China Glaze and Catrice polishes

Hi y'all!

Last weekend, I went to the Beauty Trade Fair in Utrecht. That's a fair for beauticians, nailtechnicians and pedicures (my mom is a pedicure and I do nails, mostly my own).

But because I read a lot on the internet, for me there were not so much new stuff for nails etc.
Ofcourse OPI had a big stand, and it was sooo crowdy over there, because their prices were very low!
1 polish was € 6,95 (excl. VAT) that is about $ 9,90. At most of our drugstores, OPI polishes cost about
€ 13,95 (± $ 19,85!). At the fair OPI had a great offer: when you buy 12 polishes ore more, the price gets lower and is € 6,50 per bottle (± $ 9,25). So yeah, people went totally crazy over there! :)

Lately I buy a lot of polishes, so it's hard to recognize the colors that you already have in your stash.
And most of the time, I keep looking at the same colors; taupes and pinks have my interest at the moment.
But to prevent buying the same, or almost the same colors you already have, I decided to not went totally crazy, and only bought 3 OPI polishes I really liked:

OPI Don't Know... Beets Me!

OPI - Got A Date To Knight!

OPI - Over The Taupe

They also sold China Glaze on that fair. In The Netherlands, that's a brand that is a bit hard to find at stores. But now they had almost all China Glaze colors sorted on collection. I am looking for a super red polish for a while. And I don't think I exaggerate when I say that I have stood there for almost half an hour, walking back and forth, searching across all the polishes they had, looking for the brightest red I could find. Eventually I made a choice between China Glaze Ruby Deer and Hey Sailor from their latest collection.
In my opinion Ruby Deer is brighter red, and so I made up my mind and bought it, together with Emerald Fitzgerald:

China Glaze Ruby Deer

China Glaze Emerald Fitzgerald

And a couple of days ago, I saw a commercial on tv of my local beautysupplier that they had a great discount on make up and polishes, so again I went to get some polishes:

Catrice Miss Piggy Reloaded

Catrice Lucky In Lilac

I think the Catrice polishes are great colors for spring...

From all of my new polishes the first polish I tried was OPI Don't Know... Beets Me!
What a lovely fuchsia pink!! I sooo love it! It's exactly the same color as my vest (cardigan) and when I wore this polish at work, I got a dozens compliments of how well it matched my outfit! :)

I'm going to show it very soon, keep watching!

What colors do you think of when you think of spring??

Have a nice weekend!

Love,
Kim
