Born Pretty Store: BK Smokey Grey Black Matte

Hi everyone!

A couple of days ago I received my two Born Pretty Store-polishes.
Today I want to show you the first one I got: BK Smokey Grey Black Matte:

This are 2 coats... I could have done 1 coat, because the polish is very opaque, but I applied it a bit messy, so I could correct it by applying 2 coats. It dries matte.

This is my first matte polish, I do own a matte topcoat (actually two!) but I have never tried them (yet). The color is beautiful charcoal grey with a bit silver shimmer in it. I think it is also a beautiful color if you put topcoat over it. Then you can see the shimmer better.

I must say... There's one side in me that likes the color and the matte-effect, but there's another side in me that still think it is a bit weird to wear something matte on your fingernails :)

What do you think...? Like it or not?

Do you also own matte polishes?

Kim

Zoya Maura: bloody red...

Hi everyone!

Today I want to show you one of my recently bought polishes: Zoya Maura!

It is a gorgeous bloody, tomato red, which I really love! And the application was excellent!
The formula is great and the polish is very opaque, so you only need 2 coats. This really is one of the finest polishes to polish with. Definitely one of my top 10 polishes!!

This are 2 coats with 2 coats of Seche Vite topcoat.

I'm in L-O-V-E with this color!

I normally don't ever wear red polish, but today I wore dark blue with a dark blue skinny jeans, and I like it to wear red with blue. It gives a bit a nautic / marine look.

What do you think? Do you like (and wear) red?
If so, what's your favorite red polish?

Have a nice evening!

Love,
Kim

Shopping: Zoya, Catrice, Dearlee & BK polishes!

Hi everyone!

Hope you're doing fine. I'm so happy with my new polishes!! Let's take a quick look:

Zoya Maura

WOW!! Zoya Maura is definitely the most beautiful red I've ever polished my nails with!
What a beautiful tomato-red it is! The application was so easy; 2 coats and they went on like a dream!
HAPPY, HAPPY, JOY, JOY! :)

Zoya Ali

Zoya Ali is a beautiful neon pink. I've only swatched this one on my nailwheel, and unfortunately the application was not the same as with Maura :(
Ali needed 3 coats to get opaque and is a bit more sheer than Maura. Seems like this formula is a bit different.

Catrice 320 Back To Black

Catrice Back To Black isn't what the name suspect it to be: black!
The previous version was black. This version is a dark grey with a tiny bit of shimmer. Haven't tried this one on my nails, but will swatch it soon!

Catrice 050 Moulin Rouge Light

Catrice Moulin Rouge Light, from the Ultimate Nudes Collection is a nice and soft peachy pink.
I HAD to have this polish, and the last couple of months it was always sold out, so now I have Moulin Rouge FINALLY! :)

Catrice 030 My Café Au Lait At Nôtre-Dame
Damnnn what a long name for a polish! :) But it sure is a nice name.
My Café Au Lait At Nôtre-Dame is a dark beige nude polish. I love nudes! And if you're working at an office and your nails shouldn't get attention all the time; this is a lovely and decent color!

Catrice 040 Petit Four As Dessert
I wore Petit Four As Dessert only 1 time and at first I thought it was wayyy to dark to match my skintone, but later on I started to like it more and more. It is a soft light brown / mocca with a hint of shimmer. I think it is a beautiful color!

Dearlee 007 from Born Pretty Store

I ordered two polishes from Born Pretty Store, and this is one of them. Strange enough the color on the website is described as light blue, and so does the color on the picture appear.
The color irl is actually mint green and despite the fact that I was looking for a baby blue pastel color, I got this one... But I like it anyway :)

BK 04 from Born Pretty Store

This is the 2nd polish I ordered from Born Pretty Store: a Smokey Grey Black matte polish.
It contains very tiny sparkling glitters, which you only can see when you'll put topcoat over it.
The swatch on my nailwheel looks very beautiful, so I can't wait to wear this one!

Which one would you like to see first??

Kim

OPI Kiss On The Chic + M40

Hi!

Today I want to show you my soft pink manicure:

Please excuse my dry cuticles...

Basecolor: OPI Kiss On The Chic (4 coats)
Stampingpolish: Backscratchers White
Topcoat: Seche Vite

Ahhh men what was it hard to apply! It's sheer and very streaky, so it needs at least 4 coats to get even and opaque. So you don't want to be in a hurry... The whole manicure took me about 2 hours! It was very late at night and I had to go to bed and didn't want to ruin my freshly polished nails, so I cheated a bit :)

I applied 3 thin coats, and 1 (last) thick coat. Then I applied 1 thick coat of Seche Vite and after a couple of minutes I applied 2 more coats of Seche Vite. I thought it might help to dry all the layers a bit quicker :)

And it helped! The next morning I didn't saw sheets printed in my nails, so it was worth a try!

Kiss On The Chic is a milky light pink. I stilll don't know if I like it or not. The polish in the bottle looks so nice and sweet.

But I don't know if it matches my skintone that well...

I used the flower-design from Konad's imageplate M40 to get sort of a French Manicure.
But I definitely need to practice my stamping skills :)

Have a nice day!

Love,
Kim

Pedicure: Silver Foil with Leopard

Hi everyone!

I'm sorry it is already 10 days ago I've posted some pictures, but I've been very busy lately. I'll explain later for what reason.

But I'm back again :)

Remember the Silver Foil Pedicure I did a while ago?

I'm still wearing it, but after I got bored of it, I spiced it up with BundleMonster plate 221:

Basecolor: Silver Foil (and 2 layers of gel)
Stamping polish: Wet 'n Wild Black Crème
Topcoat: Seche Vite

What do you think? I like it so far...

Oh, and I changed the layout of my Blog, do you like it?

Okay, here's why I've been too busy for blogging... I've had my 32nd Birthday-party for friends and family and I've done a workshop "Create your own Parfume" in Amsterdam, last weekend (which was really fun to do!). My Birthday was great, all of my friends and family were there, and I'm very spoilt :). I got lots of beautiful presents from my love (see below):

a Daylight Lamp
(to do my nails at night and actually see the accurate color)

a Dust Collector
(to keep my lungs healthy :) )

and a Logitec Laptop Desk
(because I always sit on my couch with my laptop on my knees)

a couple of really nice scented mini nail-oils

a Shellac in a nude pinkish color which I haven't tried yet

Shall I go on? No... I got more presents but these aren't about nails, so I'm not going to bore you with the rest of my presents :)

I hope to show you this Shellaq soon.

But I'll have to show you an OPI polish with a Konad stamp first...

Love,
Kim

Pedicure: Silver Foil

Hi everyone!

Today I tried one of my Foils: Silver. It's just plain Silver Foil. Not a holo one, just plain Metallic Silver Foil. Here are some pictures of it:

This time, instead of regular topcoat (that crinckles/crackles) I applied two layers of topgel and cured this for 2 minutes under my UV-light lamp. The result: no crackles and a long(er) lasting foil Pedicure :)

On the pictures it doesn't really show, but I can almost see myself in my mirror-nails :)

I'm very happy with the anti-crackle solution that really seem to work!

When I get bored of them (which might take a while, because I really like them!) I maybe try some Konading on it... I think it will look nice with a full nail design...

I hardly see transfer foils in Blog-land. Aren't there any fellow Bloggers who like foils??

See you next time!

Love,
Kim
