White Crackle Pay Days

Hi everyone!

Today I would like to show you my previous manicure Misa Pay Days Are Happy Days (click here) topped with China Glaze Crackle Glaze Lightning Bolt (picture heavy!):

I know crackle polishes are a bit "been-there-done-that" but I haven't used them that much, and when the sun is shining, for some reason they are more appealing to me :)

I don't know what it is, but when it's sunny, I just easier grab a crackle polish.

I like this combination: a nude polish underneath a crackle polish... I think crackle polishes on itself are pretty outstanding, so I'd like to keep it a bit calm this way...

I've swatched China Glaze Crackle Glaze Lightning Bolt before (click here) but I didn't like the way it turned out then. So I've decided to swatch it again, and this time on my natural nails...

Lightning Bolt is a bit tricky... The first swatch I've made with it looked too much like Tipp Exx in my opinion... You know, the white stuff to correct written mistakes with:

But this time the manicure turned out a lot better, at least that's what I think about it... :)

I do like this manicure, but white (matte) crackles on your nails still are a bit weird to me...

What do you think about white crackle polish? Tipp Exx or not?

Have a great weekend!

Misa Pay Days Are Happy Days

Hi!

Today I would like to show you one of my newest Misa polishes:

Misa Pay Days Are Happy Days

Pay Days Are Happy Days is a light taupe crème and is one of the six polishes from the 9 to 5 collection.

This polish went on like a dream. The brush is long and small, but that didn't bother. I'm wearing 2 coats and 2 coats of Seche Vite Topcoat.

Since my hands are a bit tanned, because of my recent vacation, I think this is a beautiful color.
But, I can't say it enough: I'm a sucker for nudes :)

Isn't this a beautiful milkish - café-au-lait-ish color? I really ♥ it! But I must admit: crème finishes are my favorite :)

What do you think about this color? Like it or not?

Have a nice evening!

I'm back...!

Hi everyone!

I'm back from our vacation at the Côte d'Azur...

It was great!

I've spent a little time on my nails, but didn't make any pictures of it... At least not from my fingernails :)

 My vacation Pedicure...

In the meantime I have some other pictures for you, hope you'll like them:

My daughter Ariël after 15 hours of driving to France & my love...

Me & Ariël...

I still have a couple of days vacation but tomorrow I'm going to show you some nail pics :)

Goodnight!

Essence Romeo

Hi!

Today I would like to show you:

Essence Romeo

Romeo is one part of an Essence Nail Art Twins-duo... It is a crème grey...
Nothing special, but I thought I didn't have anything like this in my stash and decided to buy it.

No regrets but...

... strange enough, the polish is lighter in the bottle than on my nails! It is opaque in only 2 coats.
I ♥ two-coaters!

Romeo reminds me a bit of China Glaze Recycle, and I do have that polish in my stash...
I must admit that I like the color in the bottle better, but it isn't bad...

Yup... I do have a right hand too :)

Ah well... it matched ok with my clothes and socks today :)

Goodnight!

More Blog Awards...

Yeeey!

I got tagged with these awards by Anutka from Wacky Laki! Thank you so much my dear!
I really appreciate this! :) If you haven't seen her blog yet, go do it now!

I'm not really familiar with the rules, but as Anutka wrote, I'm assuming these are the same of telling something about yourself and pass them on.

Here are 10 things about me:

1. I'm a real cookiemonster :) I eat cookies a lot...Can't help it, can't stop it!

2. Although I'm 32 years old at the moment, I'm a sucker for early rave music. I guess it's in my blood... :)

3. I have a thing with pink... Pink polish, pink cardigans, pink shoes... I'm a real girly-girl.

4. I'm a Gemini which apparently explains why I got easily bored with stuff and jump from one thing to another. The only hobby that I still like (after 10 years) is doing my own acrylic nails and taking care of them. At the moment I'm satisfied with my natural nails the way they are now and I keep them this way.

5. I have been addicted to playing The Sims 3 *blushes*. I've played it for hours and hours. About three years ago, I got this game for Christmas and I've played it from 20.30 till 06.30 in the morning, non-stop. When I finally decided to go to bed, I heard the birds whistle, and couldn't get into sleep...
Gaming is fun, but that was a little bit too much :)

6. I work in a health care facility as a Secretary for the Board of Directors for over 10 years, and I'm still happy working over there :)

7. I have a 2-year old daughter named after the little mermaid: Ariël. Unfortunately here in The Netherlands there is also a detergent called that way. That hasn't stopped us from naming our little princess like that... Ok, it is spelled different, does that count?

8. I've cut my hair last saturday! It was far below my shoulders and I now have a bobline on cheek length. Still have to get used to it, but I like it :) First reaction from my love was: "I think I'm gonna cry!" but now he's ok with it :)

I went from this...
... to this! (in brown ofcourse)

9. I go to bed wayyyy too late... But I must admit: I don't need to sleep for over 8 hours because I don't need that much sleep. Most of the time I sleep for about 5 or 6 hours... But since we have our little princess I sometimes go to sleep when she is doing a nap in the afternoon... I ♥ little naps!

10. At the moment my love and I are hooked on the TV-serie "Lost". We have the whole serie on DVD because I've never seen all episodes on TV. Now I can finally watch them all, whenever I want.
I ♥ watching DVD's with my love at home...

Well... that's about it...

I must admit I had a hard time writing down these 10 things about myself.

Here are my 10 tags (in random order) sorry if you have gotten this before...:

Hopefully it was fun to read and I didn't bore you guys with this!

Thanks for reading!

OPI I Vant To Be A-Lone Star

Hi all!

I would like to show you one of my newest OPI polishes:

I Vant To Be A-Lone Star...

I Vant To Be A-Lone Star is from the OPI Texas Collection Spring/Summer 2011.
It is a pale blue with a bit of grey in it and it has a bit of a pearl shimmer.

I had doubts about whether or not I liked this with my skintone, but I'm wearing this color for a couple of days now (if you see some scratches or tipwear you'll now know why) and I'm liking it more and more...

I think it matches great with a dark blue skinny jeans and a white blouse... At least I wore it that way :)

I like the frosty finish...

I like this color, but I can imagine that this color isn't suitable for everybody.

What do you think about this color? Would you wear it?

Until next time,

Sleek "Storm" eyeshadow palette

Hi everyone!

Today I would like to show you my new Sleek Eyeshadow palette...

It is the I-Divine Sleek "Storm" eyeshadow palette.
I'm so happy with it!

Matte and shimmer combined in 1 palette...

A closer look...

Now... Let's take a look at the colors and swatches:

1st row colors (click to enlarge)

1st row swatches

2nd row colors (click to enlarge)

2nd row swatches

How I used it:
Today I'm wearing taupe, and so I picked the two colors on the 1st and 2nd row. I put the lighter color in the inner corner of my eye and I put the darker color on the outer corner of my eye and blended these two colors in the middle... It looks real nice and sophisticated. And while I'm not really used to wear eyeshadow,  it is decent and not too outstanding. I think this palette can be used to make very simple and decent eyelooks and make very obvious and evening eyelooks.

Review:
The pigmentation of these mineral based eyeshadows is really amazing. The swatches I made are without primer or eyeshadow base. These are just one swipe on each finger and then straight on my arm. Can you believe this? It is of excellent quality.

Availability & price:
The Sleek palettes are available on the internet in different webshops and on Ebay. I bought mine in a webshop called Alice & Jo Havesentials and paid €7,25 (about $10,-) for it.

Do you own Sleek palettes? Have any recommendations (musthaves) that I need to know of?

Goodnight!
